Dr. Theda C. Kontis has been a local and national
leader in facial plastic surgery for more than 12 years. Dr. Kontis
is an Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions,
teaching surgical techniques to both medical students and residents.
She is Board Certified by the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive
Surgery, and serves as an Oral Board Examiner. In 2003, she was named
to the Board of Directors for the American Board of Facial Plastic
and Reconstructive surgery and chairs the committee preparing new
written items for the Board Examination in Facial Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Kontis is well respected for her innovative techniques in cosmetic
and reconstructive surgery. Frequently featured in Baltimore
Magazine, her expertise includes the latest techniques in
cosmetic surgery of the face as well as nasal and ear reconstruction.
In addition to performing facial rejuvenation surgeries, Dr. Kontis
is an expert in filler injections, and trains other physicians on
safe and effective Botox Cosmetic injections. Her gentle artistic
techniques allow the injections of fillers such as Restylane®,
Radiesse®, and Sculptra® with minimal discomfort and “natural” appearing
results.
She is also certified in the Contour Thread Lift, a minimally invasive
facelift with local anesthesia and a rapid recovery period. Dr. Kontis
recognizes that communication between the patient and doctor is the
essential ingredient. She is well known for the personal care she
provides for all her patients.
