Our registered nurses use a photofacial laser to help rejuvenate the skin of patients in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Annapolis and the surrounding areas of Maryland.
What is an IPL® Photofacial?
A photofacial is a procedure whereby intense pulses of light are targeted into deep layers of the skin, constricting blood vessels and tightening tissue to provide a smoother, more even complexion. *Light pulses also help stimulate the body’s own natural collagen production over a period of several weeks, which means fine lines and wrinkles will slowly fade as time goes on.
Who can Benefit from an IPL® Photofacial?
People who suffer from an uneven complexion due to age spots, sun damage or rosacea can often benefit from a photofacial, particularly when skin creams and topical ointments have failed to produce the ideal results. A photofacial may also be performed to tighten the skin for those who wish to look younger, yet are not interested in undergoing a facelift.
The IPL® Photofacial Procedure
After cleansing the skin, an aesthetician will use a special handpiece to deliver the intense pulsed light beams to the targeted area. A session lasts approximately 20 minutes, and no downtime is required afterwards. *More than one session could be needed to provide you with optimum results, and if so, you will be scheduled for a subsequent appointment in approximately three to four weeks.
How Much Does an IPL® Photofacial Cost?
Your cost will mostly depend on the treatment plan our doctors establish. As such, we will not be able to provide you with an exact cost until after your consultation. For your convenience, we accept cash, personal checks, and major credit cards. We also offer financing through Prosper® Healthcare Lending and CareCredit®.
When Will Results Be Noticed?
You will notice some immediate improvement following your first photofacial treatment. Most patients notice the most dramatic results after three or four sessions.
