Latisse®

in Baltimore, MD

Dr. Papel, Dr. Kontis, and Dr. Brown offer Latisse for those patients in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Annapolis and the surrounding areas of Maryland, who want thicker and lusher eyelashes.

What is Latisse®?

When your eyelashes get thinner, this is actually a medical condition known as hypochitrosis. Latisse® is a prescription medication that has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of hypochitrosis, as it has been found to trigger renewed eyelash growth. Treatment with Latisse® is very easy and can be done in the privacy and comfort of your home. All you have to do is apply a few drops to a sterile applicator and then swipe the skin of the upper eye at the base of the existing eyelashes before bedtime. Used as directed, you will begin to notice thicker, longer and darker eyelashes than you ever had before. Some patients even find Latisse® reduces the need for mascara.

Benefits of Latisse®

Do you want longer, thicker eyelashes? Besides giving you longer, thicker eyelashes, Latisse® also has several other benefits, such as:

  • You can apply Latisse® in the comfort of your own home
  • Darkening lashes with consistent application
  • Obtaining noticeable results in a few weeks
  • Results increase with continued use

Who is a Good Candidate for Latisse®?

If you’re tired of spending money every month trying to achieve fuller, thicker lashes, then you may be a good candidate for Latisse®. Latisse® is formulated specifically to stimulate lash growth from the inside out, and it can completely overhaul their appearance. All you need is one application to your top lashes daily. Always remember to apply Latisse® before you go to bed at night, and you’ll grow great looking lashes you’ll love!

How is Latisse® Treatment Performed?

Before beginning a Latisse® regimen, you will consult with one of our licensed one of our licensed aestheticians, and together you will determine whether you’re a good candidate for Latisse®. While Latisse® is available by prescription only, you apply it yourself at home.

The self-application is actually quite simple, and it begins with cleaning your face. Making sure you have a clean face is essential before applying Latisse®. It’s extremely important that you make sure there is no lotion, makeup or skincare product residue left on your eyelids. After you wash your face, then dry it with a soft, clean towel.

Next, place one drop of Latisse® on the applicator. While holding it horizontally like a mascara brush, apply the product to your lashes starting with the inside of your top eyelid. You will move the brush slowly along as if you were applying liquid eyeliner. Don’t use Latisse® on your bottom lids or lashes and avoid getting it in your eyes. A cotton ball or soft cloth can also be used to get rid of any excess product. A shower, face scrub and an application of Latisse® is a common nighttime routine for those patients who want to overcome their eyelash problems with long, lush lashes thanks to Latisse®.

Results of Latisse®

Once you have incorporated Latisse® into your nighttime routine, you will be surprised at how quickly you will start to see results. Initial results can be observed just a couple of weeks after beginning to use Latisse®. Your lashes will continue to show improvement until they reach their maximum thickness and fullness, which is usually at about 16 weeks. After that, your continued use of Latisse® will be needed to maintain those positive results.
